It is our mission at Ligara Farms to provide a high caliber, competitive training program within the context of a rewarding and safe riding environment. We help rider and horse to establish a special bond, build a strong foundation in their chosen discipline, and develop at their own pace so they can compete at the peak of their ability and fulfill their passion for this amazing sport.

our story

From Humble Begginnings

In February of 2000, after years of working out of several different facilities in the Morgan Hill/Gilroy region,  Susan Crenshaw and her husband, Joseph Heinrich, were presented with the opportunity to buy 10 mostly undeveloped acres in Morgan Hill.  With the help of a marvelous facility planner, Linda Royer, Susan and Joe started the process of  creating, planning, and building Ligara Farms. Many wonderful peoples’ participation throughout 2001 made it possible on December 21st of that year to move horses into the then fledgling project. Over the 20 years Ligara has expanded, and now houses 30 horses and has a separate hay barn,  horse exerciser, perimeter trail, hot wash rack and 12 turnout paddocks!

A successful hunter/jumper trainer in the Bay Area for more than 30 years, Susan designed and built the Morgan Hill property based on her years of experience, creating a comfortable, beautiful, and completely functional training space for horse and rider.

This is a place for your horse to be happy, healthy and safe, leaving you to concentrate on developing your riding skills, and learning to interact with your horse on every level.
